Spinal Energetics is a technique developed by Chiropractor and Counsellor Dr Sarah Jane.

Through light yet powerful touch (and sometimes no touch), an organic flow of movement and sound begins and progresses to shift, unwind, discover and release tension, resistance, and stories that may have been stored in your body. The movements and sounds are natural and primordial. They are a response to the treatment and are driven by your own intuition and instinct.
Each living being is not just a physical form but also a being of energy. Energy encompasses each of our aspects: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and soul, woven together with our ancestry, experiences, stories, personality, and character.
Energy is a spectrum from underactive to overactive. My goal as a Spinal Energetics practitioner is to support my clients in meeting the middle path of homeostasis, and balance, as we believe that wellbeing is each person’s birth right.
Spinal Energetics is not something I ‘do’ to a client. It is a practice of collaboration to cultivate and support deep self-awareness in you to help you soften and/or strengthen patterns of resistance and/or submission that may be preventing wellbeing from flowing through you.
Spinal Energetics is Influenced by various modalities, such as Network Spinal, Kundalini Activation Process, Alpha Alignment, Shamanism, Inner Dance, Reiki, Esoteric Acupuncture, Craniosacral Therapy, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, and Pranayama. It also incorporates philosophies inspired by Eastern thought, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Chinese Medicine, Yogic and Meditative traditions.

Spinal energetics can be a deeply moving and powerful modality. For your safety and wellbeing, please refrain from booking a session if you have any of the listed contraindications:

The number of sessions varies based on your goals and needs. Some people experience profound shifts after just a few sessions, while others may benefit from an ongoing journey.
I recommend booking a series of 3 - 6 sessions then we will revisit how you are feeling.
In your first session, we will have the opportunity to have a chat to find out where you are at, what your concerns are and where you would like to move forward. Sometimes this isn’t known, and that is ok. We don’t always need to know a plan as the body wil;l reveal what it is ready to release.
Following our chat, we will have you lay on a table so we can begin an initial assessment. From here, I will be shown where in your body you are likely holding onto these blockages and where energy needs some help to move through.
It can be tempting to assume and expect a session to unfold in a way you may have seen online. There are plenty of videos being shared of treatments where clients have expressive body language and emotions during the session. This is rarely the case for a first time client or event after just a few sessions.
This can come down to a few things.
When you have experienced energy healing in the past, are a frequent yoga attendee, practice breathwork or other variances of work of this nature, your body is generally more in tune with a strong mind / body connection.
Naturally, as humans we gravitate to being more introverted or extroverted (and this can differ day to day with some people). It's important to remember that more movement or even emotional release during a session doesn't equal a better session. It is experienced in a different way.
A client who moved subtly on the table, or is mostly still can still be experiencing significant shifts on a more internal level.
Usually, but not always, the more sessions of spinal energetics you have, the more comfy and safe you start to feel. Your mind and body get tighter, building on what you learned in previous sessions. It's like your body's relearning a language that talks to its natural healing power, helping it let go when it feels safe. This process helps create a newer version of yourself, undoing years of holding onto trauma and blockages as a way to protect against fear and instability in our society's subconscious. And don't forget, stuff like generational traumas and learned behaviours can play into all of this too.
Some individuals might not immediately feel the energetic shifts during a session. But here’s the secret: the energy is always at work, even if you’re not sensing it.
The nervous system plays a crucial role. Your body receives precisely what it’s ready for, never overwhelming or shocking your system. It’s a gentle, nurturing process.
Resistance can also play a part in how you respond and what you feel. If you’ve faced significant traumas, it’s natural to have protective walls. These walls shield you but may also limit your ability to connect deeply during the session.
An overactive mind, filled with worries or expectations, can also pull you away from the subtle energies at play. High expectations can create pressure and hinder the experience.
But, here’s the magic: patience, self-compassion, and trust in your healing journey can open doors to profound transformation. Your body knows the pace it can handle, and healing takes time. Layer by layer, you peel away the old, integrating each step along the way.
